Two people passed away at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday when vehicles slammed into each other on the busy Highway 401. The two male drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Five more occupants suffered small cuts. Thick broken glass and metal covered the eastbound lanes. Cleanup crews had the scene cleared. Authorities blocked off that stretch of road. Investigators finished their review by around just before noon.
