Anthony Mackie will transfer his West End production of Macbeth to Broadway, coming back to live theatre after a long absence. He will play the title role, with the run scheduled to continue until July 2027.

The production started on the West End stage before the Broadway transfer was reported by Playbill and Deadline. The move represents a big shift for a performer largely absent from the stage in recent years.

After his Broadway commitment wraps up, Mackie has confirmed he will film Avengers: Secret Wars, slotting the Marvel project in after his stage work finishes.
