A $500 million national class action settlement has been reached in Canada, resolving allegations that packaged bread prices were fixed between 2001 and 2021. Eligible Canadians can claim up to $25 without requiring receipts, with the majority of funds going to Ontario shoppers, who are expected to receive about 78% of the total. The remaining funds will be distributed to Quebec residents. The settlement was approved by the Ontario Superior Court in May and the Superior Court of Quebec in July. In order to receive compensation, claims must be filed by August.
