Latest News About Qantas to repay customers, Virgin retains unused credits

Qantas has issued letters or emails to customers to about one million Australian customers.

The communication describes a $105 million settlement for flights that were cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The airline states the payout will be distributed to eligible passengers who booked in 2020 and will be finalised over the next few weeks in the near term.

On that day, Virgin Australia revealed it still holds $93 million in unused flight credits yet to be used.

This amount was disclosed as the airline’s chief executive received a salary increase recently.

Virgin has still not announce any plan to release the credits as of now.
