An hobbyist observer using Google Maps stumbled upon a broad ring-shaped dent in northern Quebec. Specialists from Quebec’s geological survey verified it is a massive meteorite impact crater roughly 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The scar on the landscape closely matches other confirmed craters and points to a cataclysmic long-ago blow. Satellite images were it thoroughly cross-referenced field data to validate the finding.
