Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has temporarily stopped taking new applications for family visa sponsorship for elderly relatives. Families can no longer submit forms to bring elderly relatives to Canada. The government offered no clarity on when or the suspension will end. Recent updates to immigration rules came shortly prior to the shutdown. Newly released data on work permit delays was published. However, no plan to address the current delays was announced.
