Toronto’s general manager John Chayka said the club is exploring a trade for Columbus defenseman Zach Werenski following the NHL Draft.
The Leafs have brought in a few prospects in the draft’s final round.
Chayka confirmed that organizations are contacting Columbus to gauge Werenski’s availability.
Rumors also associate goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to the organization.
Chayka commented on the recent transfer of defenseman Brandon Carlo to St. Louis and noted that deadline pressures compel the club to act fast, reminding that the team must act quickly on all decisions.
