The Minnesota Lynx topped the Golden State Valkyries twice in late August. Minnesota won 77-66 on Aug. 19. The teams faced off again Aug. 24 at Target Center. Minnesota held the top seed. They were undefeated against Golden State yet. Courtney Williams sat out. Her right foot had an injury. Without Williams on the floor, Minnesota was unable to clinch the top seed in that game.
