Old Xaverians have lost their place in the VAFA Premier Division grand final. The club has been thrown out after it fielded an ineligible player. This stemmed from an administrative mistake. The team said its players and staff are gutted about the error. St Kevin's will assume Old Xaverians' place in the final. The league says the rule was broken and the forfeit takes effect immediately.
