Port Talbot Parkway attended a new enclosed footbridge with a ticket office plus CCTV and lifts to every platform as part of a regeneration scheme linked to Wales Station Improvement Scheme. The project supports a park-and-ride and more car parking, along with better facilities for cyclists, buses, and taxis. It is connected to wider Port Talbot regeneration efforts such as the Harbourside development and town-centre upgrades. Funding came from a mix of Welsh Government, Network Rail, and EU and other funds, with collaboration with Neath Port Talbot Council.
Passengers and the community of Port Talbot have been thanked for their patience after Network Rail completed its work to install a new bridge over two weekends.
