The NFL is phasing out the annual Pro Bowl event after 75 years. The league is ending the on-field contest, but star players will continue to be recognized. Players will continue to be named as Pro Bowlers to earn their yearly recognition.
Player honors will stay in place despite the cancellation of the event. However, backup selections will no longer be acknowledged by the league. The move ends the 75 year history of the yearly event, but leading stars will continue getting their official Pro Bowl accolades each season.
