After Reorganization, Corporate Fraud Gets a Closer Look: New Enforcement Policies from DOJ's National Fraud Enforcement Division - Freshfields

US DOJ Seeks to Revoke Citizenship for 40 Foreign-Born Nationals

The US Department of Justice has moved to revoke citizenship for 40 foreign-born Americans accused of crimes, one of the more aggressive denaturalisation efforts in recent years. The department's recently restructured National Fraud Enforcement Division also issued a corporate enforcement directive, signalling tighter scrutiny of corporate fraud.

In a separate development, the Ninth Circuit put on hold a court order that would have reinstated a fired Seattle federal prosecutor. The three actions together reflect a busy period for the DOJ across immigration, white-collar enforcement, and personnel disputes.
