Aryna Sabalenka said Wimbledon’s rule that bars dogs from player enclosures is overly harsh.
She said the ban saddens her and is unfair to players who own pets.
She asked the tournament to change the rule to respond promptly.
The ban affects the whole tournament throughout the week, every single day, preventing owners from keeping their dogs close, which many find restrictive.
Sabalenka made the remarks on 2 July 2026, after the championships began.
She told the board the rule is heart‑wrenching and asked them to allow dogs back the player zones.
