Locals close to Ottawa experienced sharp explosions late Thursday night.
The blasts came from unused Canada Day fireworks.
Abandoned fireworks from July 1 detonated near Lemieux Island.
Police and councillors confirmed the incident.

Nobody was hurt and no property damage was reported.
