Daniel Tupou has stepped away from the game just days after the Sydney Roosters lifted the premiership trophy. The winger departs the competition as a four-time premiership winner, all earned with the Roosters, having never worn a different club's jersey.

The Roosters said they were "lost for words" at his departure. Tupou's full NRL journey was spent in red, white and blue, leaving him regarded as one of the most loyal one-club players in the competition's recent memory.
